Re-Launch Strategy

One Life Church

Updated August 19, 2020

Dear One Life Church Family,

It’s hard to believe that we are in July. Since we have been separated there have been days and weeks that felt like months, but there have also been months that have flown by in the blink of an eye. I’m sure you can resonate when I say that this entire experience has been surreal.

With that being said, it is what it is. It’s our reality. We cannot escape it. Maybe we try to ignore it, pretend like it’s not happening or claim it’s not real, but it’s still here, right in front of us.

The good news is this…

God meets us where we really are, so we can experience the depth of who God is right where we are. We don’t have to be somewhere else in order to experience God. We don’t have to recreate the past in order to experience God and we don’t have to rush into the future in order to experience God. God is right here, with us.

Where are we? This page is our best attempt at keeping you updated on where we are as a church during this season of separation and where we believe God is calling us to follow Him in obedience.

What you will find below is our updated Re-Launch Strategy.

Before you look at the updates I want to ask you for a couple things:

1. Pray for the leadership of your church. These decisions are not easy and we do not take them lightly. We are doing our best to hear the voice of God, see where God is moving and then responding in obedience.

2. Give us grace. As you know, the information that we receive changes on a daily basis. This page is fluid. All of the dates and details you see below are subject to change. Be flexible and willing to pivot as we walk through this experience together.

3. Be patient. Over the past couple weeks I’ve been saying to our staff and our elders that I don’t want to be motivated by impatience. Rather, I want to be motivated by love. I want us to move and act from a place of love for our neighbors, both near and far.

4. Remain faithful. I have been so impressed and inspired by you. I brag on you every single day. The way you have been faithful to your church family, to your families, to your neighbors, to your financial commitments has been a story worth telling. We have a few more weeks of being scattered and I know it’s hard. But don’t grow weary my friends. Persevere. Continue putting one foot in front of the other. God is faithful. God is present with us. God is still at work. Let’s remain faithful to Him and to one another.

I’ll leave you with the words of the Apostle Paul from Ephesians 3:

“I ask God to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Glory to God in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever!”

Grace & Peace,
